AS8224 INTERCOM-AS Vaprio DAgogna Novara

The Autonomous System of Intercom s.r.l. (INTERCOM-AS), a regional fibre

operator based in Vaprio d'Agogna, in the province of Novara (Piedmont). It sells

fibre connectivity, VoIP and PBX, cloud and security services to companies and

private customers in its area, and runs its own small data centre.

What it's used for

• Fibre access and IP connectivity across the Novara area, plus hosted voice and cloud services.
• Reverse DNS in 195.72.192.0/19 is all Intercom's own: customer assignments named 195-72-201-20.static.intercom.it and site-coded variants such as 195-72-208-30-sam-mil.intercom.it, alongside backbone and NOC devices (mla-srx0-fxp0.noc.intercom.it, mlc-bkb-1-sfp28-5.intercom.it) and a data centre switch (vpr-dc-sw1.intercom.it).

Notable

• The rDNS shows static assignments, not dynamic pools. There is no pppoe-, dyn- or pool- naming anywhere in the sampled space, which points at business and static-IP subscribers rather than a mass-market eyeball base, even though the operator does also sell to households.
• The site codes embedded in host names mark which PoP an address hangs off, a common pattern for a small ISP that runs a handful of exchanges.
• A few dozen observed BGP neighbours: it peers at Italian exchanges rather than relying on a single upstream, which is the profile of a serious regional operator despite its small address count.
