AS8132 ENTEX

ENTEX is a handle that has outlived its holder twice over. **ENTEX Information

Services** was a US IT-services and PC-integration firm that Siemens acquired in

2000, folding it into Siemens Business Services; Siemens' IT services division was

in turn sold to Atos in 2011. The ARIN autnum object still names ENTEX at a

Cincinnati address, but the network it announces belongs to Atos.

What it's used for

• A single /24, 155.45.249.0/24. That prefix sits inside 155.45.0.0/16, a RIPE legacy block registered to Atos IT Solutions & Services GmbH in Germany and still maintained under SBS-MNT — the Siemens Business Services maintainer.
• No reverse DNS is published on the announced space, which is a normal posture for an enterprise IT estate that has no public-facing role for the block.

Notable

• This is a corporate / enterprise remnant, not a hosting or access network. It announces 256 addresses through a single BGP neighbour: an inherited fragment of a much larger estate rather than an active service network.
• The registry trail is the whole story here. The ASN says ENTEX, the covering block says Atos, the maintainer says Siemens. Do not card this from the handle or the ARIN address — the holder is neither American nor an IT reseller any more.
