STATE-OF-FLA is the Autonomous System of the **Florida Department of Management

Services, Division of Telecommunications** — the office that runs SUNCOM, the

state's shared telecommunications and data network.

What it's used for

• Aggregating internet connectivity for Florida state government as a whole. The announced prefixes are registered to individual state bodies rather than to the AS holder: the Department of Management Services itself, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Children and Families, the Agency for Health Care Administration and the Florida Information Resource Network (the state's education network), among many others.
• A small number of blocks belong to Florida-based partners rather than agencies, so not every prefix here is a state office.

• This is a government aggregator, and it is unusually fragmented: around 800 IPv4 prefixes, mostly /24s carved out of older /16s, adding up to roughly 770k addresses. The de-aggregation reflects a network stitched together from agency blocks registered separately in the early 1990s.
• Reverse DNS is largely absent on the agency blocks, which is a normal posture for a public-sector estate: internal naming stays internal, and public services sit behind separate front ends.
