telco trading as Movistar in Chile. One of the largest ASNs in the country,

announcing roughly 2.4 million IPv4 addresses.

What it's used for

• Residential and small-business fixed broadband — fibre and DSL — across Chile.
• Reverse DNS is dominated by subscriber pools such as 186-104-x-y.fo.baf.movistar.cl, where baf is banda ancha fija (fixed broadband) and fo marks fibre lines.
• A minority of the space carries static.tie.cl names, the static/business- customer side of the same operator.

Notable

• This is the fixed eyeball network, not Movistar's mobile core — the address space is full of home-connection hostnames rather than mobile carrier-grade NAT ranges.
• Telefónica Chile grew out of the former CTC (Compañía de Telecomunicaciones de Chile), the country's incumbent operator, which is why its footprint spans so many legacy LACNIC blocks (200.x, 201.x, 152.174/16, 186.104/15).
