VELOCITY is Velocity Network, Inc. of Erie, Pennsylvania — a locally owned provider that started as an IT services firm in 1990, launched one of Erie's first dial-up services as Velocity.Net in 1996, and now builds fibre to the home in Erie County under the VNET Fiber brand.

• Roughly 62,000 IPv4 addresses across nine prefixes, including 66.211.192.0/18 and 192.255.64.0/18, plus leased Cogent-origin 38.x space. That is subscriber-scale addressing for a mid-size regional ISP.

Notable

• This is an eyeball network: the majority of the space is consumer fibre and DSL customers, alongside a managed-IT and VoIP business for local companies.
• Registered with ARIN in November 1996, the same year the company launched its first internet product, and still held by the original operator.

Interesting

• The company's fibre build has passed tens of thousands of Erie-area homes, making this one of the comparatively rare cases where a 1990s dial-up ISP survived by becoming a facilities-based fibre operator instead of being bought out.
