ONO-AS is Cableuropa, trading as ONO — Spain's largest cable operator, acquired by Vodafone in 2014 and now registered as Vodafone ONO, S.A. The AS carries around 1.8 million IPv4 addresses.

What it's used for

• Residential broadband and telephony over ONO's hybrid fibre-coax and fibre plant. Reverse DNS on the announced space is unambiguous: subscriber addresses resolve as …dyn.user.ono.com, the dyn and user labels marking dynamic consumer pools.
• The inventory is the sort a long-lived eyeball network accumulates: several /16s (62.42/16, 81.184/16, 84.123/16, 84.124/16) plus dozens of smaller blocks gathered over time.

Notable

• This is an eyeball network — its address space is where subscribers sit, not where content is served. Traffic ratios and peering posture follow from that.
• Vodafone's Spanish fixed-line business was sold to Zegona in 2024, so the operating parent has changed again even though the ONO name persists in the registry and in reverse DNS.

Interesting

• ONO was assembled in the 1990s and 2000s by consolidating regional Spanish cable franchises, which is why one autonomous system ends up holding such a patchwork of unrelated IPv4 blocks. The rDNS domain has outlived two ownership changes.
