Registered to TNG Stadtnetz GmbH of Kiel, this AS carries the network of

sdt.net, the Aalen-based regional provider in Baden-Württemberg that TNG

acquired. The handle is SDTNET and the reverse DNS across the space is still

*.sdt.net.

What it's used for

• Regional broadband in Germany — VDSL and fibre-to-the-home — sold to households and to businesses in the operator's footprint.
• It also routes provider-independent space on behalf of at least one customer, so a few addresses here belong to a downstream organisation rather than to the ISP.

Notable

• Two operators, one AS: the number and the customers moved to TNG, while the IPv4 blocks it announces remain registered to a related company at the original Aalen operation. The brand visible in DNS (sdt.net) is the one being retired, not the one that owns the AS.
• An eyeball network. Addresses here are homes and local businesses on a German access network.

Interesting

• TNG bought sdt.net outright and then merged it in, extending a Kiel fibre operator's reach into Baden-Württemberg — the opposite end of the country. The two brands ran side by side during the transition, which is why the naming in the registry and the naming in DNS still disagree.
