Despite the corporate name — Servicios Empresariales means "business services" — AS6535 is registered in LACNIC as TELMEX-CL-HFC: the hybrid fibre-coax access network of Telmex Chile, now operated within Claro Chile (América Móvil). It carries over a million IPv4 addresses.

What it's used for

• Residential and small-business broadband over cable in Chile. Reverse DNS on the space includes labels such as wimax.telmexchile.cl, and the block inventory is the scattered, LACNIC-allocated 179/181/186/190 space typical of a Chilean eyeball operator.
• Upstream transit comes from sibling Telmex/Claro autonomous systems rather than from a foreign carrier directly.

Notable

• The company name is a trap. "Telmex Servicios Empresariales S.A." is simply the Chilean legal entity that holds the registration; the HFC in the AS name is the honest description, and HFC is cable-access plant serving homes.
• América Móvil's Chilean operations were combined with VTR in 2022, so the brand a subscriber sees on the bill has moved on from "Telmex" even though the registry record has not.

Interesting

• Registry objects age far more slowly than corporate identities. This AS has outlived the Telmex brand in Chile, and its rDNS still advertises a WiMAX access technology that has been essentially retired worldwide.
