AS6134 XNNET

XNNET is XNNET LLC, a network operator that provides hosting and IP-address leasing across several continents. Despite the low AS number, this is a modern holder: ARIN registered the ASN to XNNET in June 2019.

What it's used for

• Hosting and network infrastructure, with prefixes announced in the United States, Europe and Asia. Reverse DNS on parts of its space resolves into hosting-provider naming, and much of the address space it originates is registered to other organisations. That is the signature of an operator that leases and routes address space for third parties as well as hosting on its own.

Notable

• The announced footprint is unusual in shape: roughly ninety separate /24s drawn from ARIN, RIPE and APNIC space at once. A conventional regional host rides one registry's addressing; assembling scattered global /24s is characteristic of address-leasing rather than a single-site hosting business.
• Because of that shape, treat any geolocation of individual XNNET prefixes with caution: the registry region of a block says little about where its traffic actually originates.
• The registered address in Sheridan, Wyoming is a common corporate-registration address rather than an operating site, so it should not be read as where the network lives.

Interesting

• The low number here carries no early-internet history. AS6134 was reissued to a company formed in 2019, and its four-digit number is an artifact of ARIN recycling returned numbers, not of pedigree.
