AS4760 HKTIMS-AP HKT Limited

HKTIMS-AP is HKT Limited's Hong Kong access network — the internet and

multimedia services arm behind the Netvigator broadband brand. HKT is Hong

Kong's incumbent telecommunications operator, majority-owned by PCCW.

What it's used for

• Consumer and business fixed broadband across Hong Kong, sold under the Netvigator name (originally dial-up and DSL, now fibre).

Notable

• This is Hong Kong's largest eyeball network: on the order of 1.8 million IPv4 addresses assigned to end users, which is why so much Hong Kong residential traffic originates here.
• Distinct from PCCW Global, the group's international transit carrier, which runs on its own ASN. AS4760 is the domestic access network; it is not where PCCW's wholesale transit lives.

Interesting

• Netvigator is one of the oldest surviving consumer ISP brands in Asia, dating from Hong Kong Telecom's dial-up era and carried through the PCCW takeover and the later HKT Trust restructuring.
