AS4622 ID-NIC Indonesia Network Information Center

ID-NIC is IDNIC, the Indonesia Network Information Center, Indonesia's National

Internet Registry. It is operated by APJII, the Indonesian ISP association, and

sits under APNIC as the body that allocates addresses to Indonesian networks.

What it's used for

• Registry infrastructure and services for Indonesian members: address and AS number management, and the supporting systems APJII runs around it.

Notable

• Not an ISP. Like a Regional Internet Registry, an NIR's own AS carries administrative and registry services rather than customer traffic.
• The routed footprint is tiny, a few prefixes, because the space exists to run the registry, not to serve subscribers.

Interesting
