region, not a network type.

What it's used for

Pearson's own service estate. RIS sees five IPv4 prefixes totalling 2,048

addresses, no IPv6, and three observed neighbours. Three neighbours is an end

site: transit is bought, none is sold. The reverse DNS is the interesting part.

Sampled names resolve to www.ebuzon.pearson.com.mx and to

svc00376-us1-dev-1.lbaas.pearson.com, the second of which is a

load-balancer-as-a-service hostname from an internal platform, complete with a

numbered service ID and a dev environment tag. This is a corporate application

estate, publicly routed so that customers and schools can reach it.

Notable

• Despite the parent company's business being education, this is not an education network in the sense the classification uses. No campus, no students, no residence halls sit behind it. It carries a commercial vendor's infrastructure, and the honest label is enterprise. Classifying by what the space carries rather than by what the holder sells is exactly the distinction that keeps a publisher out of the education bucket.
• Every prefix is registered in ARIN to NCS Pearson Inc. itself, under network names that literally say HOSTING. Self-registered space with first-party reverse DNS is a real operator running its own systems, with nothing leased in.
