AS11888 belongs to Televisión Internacional, S.A. de C.V., the Grupo Televisa

subsidiary that operates izzi, one of Mexico's largest cable broadband,

telephone and pay-TV providers. Addresses here are overwhelmingly ordinary

Mexican home subscribers.

What it's used for

Consumer eyeball access. RIS sees 216 IPv4 prefixes carrying roughly 494,000

addresses, plus IPv6, against only 9 observed neighbours. That combination is

the definition of an eyeball network: a very large address pool consumed by

subscribers, reached through a handful of upstreams and peers, with no wholesale

transit business to justify a wide peering fan-out. The address space is built

from whole /16s, the kind of contiguous blocks a cable operator hands out to a

metropolitan subscriber base rather than the scattered /24s of a hosting or

leasing network.

Notable

• Nearly every sampled address answers reverse DNS under clientes-izzi.mx ("izzi customers"), first-party naming that ties the space directly to the operator's residential product. A subset still answers under intercable.net with cablelink- names, a survival of one of the regional cable brands that Televisa consolidated into izzi.
• Geolocating an address here means geolocating a subscriber, not a data centre. The prefixes span multiple Mexican metros, so a single /16 should never be treated as one city.
• LACNIC registration lookups failed for these prefixes during collection. That is a missing answer, not a clean one, and no inference is drawn from it.
