ASN-INTERNAP-BLK is one of the old Internap (INAP) blocks, now held by Unitas Global, which bought INAP's network business assets in May 2022. The space it announces is provider space filled with hosting and colocation customers.

What it's used for

Carrying other companies' networks. RIS observes 13 IPv4 prefixes (about 15,100 addresses) plus one IPv6 prefix, 2600:c05::/32, against five observed BGP neighbours.

The prefix registrants are the evidence that matters, and they read as a customer list rather than a shell game. 70.42.224.0/21 is registered to HotWire, Inc. (an Expedia division), 69.25.224.0/21 to Send Word Now, 216.52.55.0/24 to Noteworthy Medical Systems, 70.42.8.0/21 to a private customer, and 74.217.184.0/24 to PINPOINT. Alongside them sit 69.25.120.0/21 and 64.94.88.0/22 registered directly to Unitas Global, and 69.25.168.0/21 still registered to Internap Network Services under the backbone handle PNAP-PHX003-INAP-BB-1.

That mix, provider-owned backbone space plus SWIP reassignments to identifiable, findable enterprises, is exactly the shape of a carrier, not the unrelated-shell-registrant pattern that flags an IP-leasing operation. The sampled reverse DNS agrees: 69.25.120.5 is edge1.ge-1-0-14.fpy-2.phx004.us.unitasglobal.net, a named backbone router interface in a Phoenix facility.

Notable

The handle still says Internap and the backbone netnames still say PNAP, years after the sale. Registry naming lags ownership; read the org fields, not the handle.
