CANISIUS-COLLEGE is the campus network of Canisius, the Jesuit institution in Buffalo, New York. It is a single-prefix autonomous system: RIS sees exactly one IPv4 announcement, the /16 at 138.92.0.0, giving 65,536 addresses, with no IPv6 and only 2 observed BGP neighbours.

What it's used for

Ordinary campus connectivity for a small private university: student, faculty and administrative access, residence networks, and the institution's own web, mail and application servers. The whole inventory is one legacy /16 registered directly to Canisius College, so there is no carrier-assigned or third-party space involved and nothing resembling a leased-address or proxy shape. Two neighbours against 65k addresses reads as an end-site with a pair of upstreams for redundancy, not as a network that sells transit or hosting. The /16 is announced whole with no deaggregation, which is the routing posture of an organisation that has never needed to hand pieces of its space to anyone else.

Notable

The registry name is now out of date. The institution petitioned the New York Board of Regents for university designation and formally became Canisius University on 1 August 2023, but the AS handle, the org record and the netblock all still say "College". A useful reminder that WHOIS/RDAP names track paperwork, not branding, and can lag an organisation's identity by years.
