What it's used for

This is a small regional business-access ISP, not a hosting or transit network. RIS sees one v4 prefix, 256 addresses, no IPv6, and two observed neighbours — a pair of upstreams for redundancy and nothing peering through the AS, which is what a last-mile provider of this size looks like. Its own address consumption is minimal because the value is in the radio and fibre plant, not in the address inventory: customers get small static allocations out of a single block, and the AS exists mainly so that space can be announced independently of any one upstream.

The prefix 192.150.211.0/24 is registered to Vector Data Systems itself, and the sampled reverse DNS resolves to core2-dca.vectordata.net — a router name, not an end-user pool. dca is the Washington-National airport code, the conventional shorthand for the DC metro, so the naming places the core gear in the same market the company sells into. Self-registered space plus first-party infrastructure rDNS is the signature of a real operator running its own network.

ARIN registered the ASN in December 2011, so despite the low five-digit number this is a recycled AS, not an early-internet network — a reminder that in the AS11000 range the number says nothing about age. The company also trades as PEAKE Technology Partners.
