Despite the low AS number, this is a recent arrival on the routing table — the number was reissued, and nothing about it implies an early-internet network. RIS sees 1 IPv4 prefix, 256 addresses, no IPv6, and a single observed neighbour.

What it's used for

Whoop's own corporate edge, at its smallest possible scale. The one announced block is 50.170.101.0/24, and it is worth being precise about who that belongs to: the prefix is registered in ARIN not to Whoop but to Comcast Cable Communications, under the network handle BOSTON-CCS-1. That is not a leasing or brokerage signal. It is ordinary provider-assigned space — a business-access customer sitting on a /24 its ISP allocated out of Comcast's Boston pool, announced under the customer's own AS number so the customer keeps a stable prefix. The geography in the handle matches the company's home city.

One observed neighbour and 256 addresses is a stub, and it rules out every provider role. This AS sells nothing and carries nobody else's traffic; it exists so that Whoop can hold its own prefix at the edge of a Comcast Business circuit. None of the two addresses we sampled returned a PTR, which is a sample and not a finding.

Do not mistake this AS for Whoop's product infrastructure. A wearables company with millions of devices phoning home runs that ingest in hyperscaler cloud space, announced by AWS or GCP, not out of a single /24 behind one BGP session. What lives here is the perimeter of a corporate office network — VPN, mail, a handful of public services. Anything geolocating to this /24 is Whoop's own staff and systems in the Boston area, not a customer of Whoop and not a WHOOP band.
