NINTENDO belongs to Nintendo of America Inc., the Redmond, Washington subsidiary that runs Nintendo's business in the Americas. The famous name invites the wrong conclusion, so read the routing before the brand: this is a corporate enterprise network, not the infrastructure that serves games and online play to consoles.

What it's used for

RIS observes 13 IPv4 prefixes carrying 3,328 addresses, one IPv6 prefix (2620:a0:e0::/48), and three observed neighbours. Three neighbours and roughly thirteen /24s' worth of space is an office network multihomed for resilience. It is nowhere near what would be needed to deliver eShop downloads, Switch Online matchmaking or game updates to tens of millions of consoles — that traffic rides commercial cloud and CDN platforms, on other companies' address space. What this AS carries is Nintendo of America's own edge: corporate connectivity for the Redmond campus, VPN and remote access, mail, authoritative DNS (205.166.76.133 answers as nsx2.nintendo.com), and the internal-facing infrastructure of a large games publisher and distributor.

Notable

The inventory is clean. The core of it is 192.159.184.0/22-through-/23 space registered as NINTEN to Nintendo Of America inc., plus 205.166.76.0/24 as NINTENDO-COM. The two handles that look foreign are not: LVLC-TND2 on 173.226.198.0/24 and Q1014-207-108-201-0 on 207.108.201.0/24 both record the org as Nintendo, and both are carrier-assigned space — Level 3 and Qwest respectively. The reverse DNS confirms it: 207.108.201.5 and .133 answer as cust.qwest.net, an upstream's default naming on a customer block. Provider-assigned space wearing the provider's rDNS is ordinary, and it is not an IP-leasing signal.

Interesting

The /24s carved out of 192.159.184.0/22 are announced both as the aggregate and as individual more-specifics. That deaggregation across a handful of small blocks, with a single /48 of IPv6 and no more, is a network built for an office, kept small on purpose, and left that way.
