BELLTOWER belongs to Bell Tower Integration, Inc., a boutique New York City technology advisory firm working in security, compliance and infrastructure — fractional CTO work, hybrid cloud, application hosting and storage, mainly for alternative-investment and healthcare clients. Despite the low AS number, this is a recycled ASN: ARIN registered it to Bell Tower on 13 June 2023.

What it's used for

This is an IPv6-only announcement. RIS observes no IPv4 prefixes at all, two IPv6 prefixes — 2602:2ed::/48 and 2602:2ed:1::/48 — and one observed neighbour. The zero IPv4 count is consistent with an empty IPv4 prefix list, so it is a real absence rather than a broken pack: this AS genuinely does not originate IPv4 space today.

That combination tells you what the network is for. A single upstream and two /48s is the smallest workable BGP presence, and a firm of this size runs one for address independence rather than capacity: it lets Bell Tower host client applications and infrastructure on space it controls, and move that space between facilities or providers without renumbering. The consulting practice is the business; the AS is the plumbing under the hosted piece of it.

The registered address is a Manhattan apartment. That is normal for a small advisory firm run out of a principal's home, and on its own it means nothing — but it is worth stating plainly, because the same detail appears in genuinely shell-like registrations. Here it sits alongside a real, findable practice with a public web presence and named services, which is what separates the two.

Interesting

The AS number is the trap. AS11263 sits in a block issued in the 1990s, but the ARIN record shows registration and last-changed both in June 2023, so nothing about this network predates that. It is one of the recycled numbers that make the AS11000s a bad place to infer age from a low number.
