SBT-NET belongs to Screamin' Banshee Technologies, a very small independent internet company in Waterloo, Iowa, registered to an office suite at 501 Sycamore Street and trading on the domain sbt.net. The memorable name is the whole company: this is a four-person local operator, not a national provider.

What it's used for

The routing is that of a tiny single-homed provider. RIS observes 12 IPv4 prefixes carrying 3,072 addresses, no IPv6, and one observed neighbour. A single neighbour means the network buys transit from exactly one upstream and sells transit to nobody. The address count is twelve /24s worth of space, an amount a small-town ISP or a modest hosting and business-IT shop consumes, and nothing more.

Most of the inventory is the company's own: 63.147.97.0/24 through 63.147.103.0/24 are all carved out of a single ARIN /21 registered under the handle 63-147-96-0-21 to Screamin' Banshee itself, announced deaggregated as individual /24s. 204.71.100.0/24 sits under a legacy Savvis handle whose org is SBT, Inc. — the same company under its short name. Two blocks, 206.156.242.0/24 and 206.27.220.0/24, are registered to CenturyLink. That is ordinary provider-assigned carrier space from the upstream, not third-party leased-in inventory, and it does not fit the multi-RIR, multi-registrant scatter that signals IP brokerage.

ARIN registered the ASN in June 1998 and the org record was last touched in 2012. This is one of the genuinely old numbers in a range full of recycled ones: the holder today is the same company it was issued to.

What the space actually carries is not determinable from the routing alone. The pack returned no reverse DNS on the addresses sampled, so there is no PTR evidence to say whether these /24s front consumer access, business connectivity or hosted servers, and the card does not guess.
