SKYCOMP-01 is Skycomp Solutions Inc. of 80 King Street, St. Catharines, Ontario (ARIN org SS-34) — a Niagara-region managed service provider. Skycomp sells IT support, connectivity, hosting and colocation to small and medium businesses and runs its own small data centre in downtown St. Catharines.

What it's used for

Business connectivity and hosted infrastructure, at MSP scale. RIS observes three IPv4 /22s (~3,072 addresses), one IPv6 /32 (2607:2700::/32), and two observed neighbours. A pair of upstreams and a few thousand addresses is an operator that runs a network for its own customers rather than one that sells transit onward.

Reverse DNS across the sampled space is uniformly first-party — ip-199-168-248-5.skycomp.ca, ip-199-114-254-5.skycomp.ca — generic per-address naming of the kind used for customer circuits and hosted servers alike.

Notable

Two of the three prefixes are registered directly to the operator (SKYCOMP-BLOCK-01, SKYCOMP-BLOCK-02). The third, 205.210.228.0/22, is registered to INLINE-NET rather than Skycomp. On its own a third-party registrant is the tell for IP leasing, but the surrounding facts do not support that reading: the holder is a real, findable Ontario business with a physical address and a decade-plus of public trading history, the majority of its space is self-registered, and the space wears its own first-party rDNS. A single differently-registered block is far more consistent with an acquisition or a long-standing transferred assignment than with brokerage.
