PRECISION-DATA-SOLUTIONS is the AS of Precision Data Solutions, LLC, trading as PDS Connect — a small rural internet provider in Morgan County, Indiana, run out of Mooresville and serving Mooresville, Martinsville, Monrovia and the surrounding countryside.

Residential and small-business access in a rural county. RIS observes 4 IPv4 prefixes totalling 4,096 addresses, one IPv6 prefix (2605:e780::/32), and 2 BGP neighbours. Two upstreams and a /20 is a subscriber network, not a carrier: the AS exists so a local ISP can multihome and keep its own addressing.

The reverse DNS is unusually informative. Sampled addresses come back as 192-69-56-5-inmnrvmon.dynamic.pdsconnect.me, 192-69-57-5-inmtvlobs.dynamic.pdsconnect.me and 192-69-54-5-inmrvltur.dynamic.pdsconnect.me — a first-party zone whose hostnames appear to encode Indiana town codes (Monrovia, Martinsville, Mooresville) plus a site identifier, with a separate infrastructure.pdsconnect.me label for the operator's own gear. Per-tower, per-town subscriber naming under a dynamic. label is exactly what a fixed-wireless or fiber access network's customer pools look like. All four announced prefixes are registered to PDS-IN-A, i.e. to the operator itself, so this is a real ISP on its own space.

Interesting

The low AS number is misleading. ARIN's registration date for AS11142 is June 2012, so despite sitting in a 1990s-era numeric range this is a recycled number in the hands of a company founded in 1999 — the address block 192.69.48.0/20 is the older artefact here, not the AS.
