ANTEL-NET is Antelecom, Inc., an independent internet service provider based at 44931 10th Street West in Lancaster, California, serving the Antelope Valley (Lancaster, Palmdale and the surrounding high desert). It is a small, single-market eyeball network rather than a carrier.

What it's used for

Antelecom announces exactly one IPv4 prefix, 66.102.192.0/20 (4,096 addresses), and no IPv6. That prefix is registered in ARIN to ANTELECOM-BLK-1 — the network's own block, held by the same company that announces it. That self-registration matters: it is what separates a genuine small operator from an AS number being used to announce space leased from unrelated third parties.

The reverse DNS confirms the role. Addresses resolve under antelecom.net, mixing infrastructure names such as bgp2.antelecom.net with per-address subscriber-style records like 66-102-200-5.antelecom.net. That address-encoded pattern is the standard way an access provider names customer IPs, and it is first-party rDNS rather than an upstream's default. The company sells internet access and voice service to homes and small businesses in the valley, historically over dial-up and fixed wireless and more recently over broadband.
