AS10975 NET-AIG

NET-AIG is registered to American International Group Data Center, Inc., the infrastructure entity of AIG, the multinational insurance and financial-services group. It is an enterprise AS carrying the company's own data-centre and internet-facing application estate.

What it's used for

RIS sees 17 announced IPv4 prefixes totalling 4,864 addresses, 2 IPv6 prefixes out of 2620:13f::, and only 4 observed neighbours. Four adjacencies against a fragmented set of /23s and /24s is the signature of an enterprise buying transit at a small number of data-centre edges, not of a network selling connectivity onward.

The reverse DNS confirms the space carries first-party corporate applications rather than end users. One sample resolves to am2z1-m-corpadmin-web.dsu.aig.com, a corporate admin web tier with a site/zone naming convention baked into the hostname; the other to identity.uat.travelguard.com, a UAT (user acceptance testing) identity endpoint for Travel Guard, AIG's travel-insurance brand. Together those show public-facing and pre-production application front-ends of the group and its subsidiaries, which is precisely what a large insurer's internet edge looks like.

Note that all 17 prefixes come out of a single 167.230.0.0/16 parent, deaggregated per application or per site. That is an internal addressing plan being announced in pieces, not a collection of acquired blocks.

• The presence of a named subsidiary brand (travelguard.com) in the same AS as the corporate aig.com estate reflects the group's structure: many consumer-facing insurance brands behind one shared network.
• The IPv6 announcements are two adjacent /47s, an unusual prefix length that suggests careful internal subnetting of a larger allocation rather than a single flat block.
