The single BGP adjacency means the ASN is not even buying redundancy today — it exists mostly to give the company a portable block it can carry between providers.

The scale rules out the alternative reading. A media group with dozens of titles could plausibly have been a hosting operation for its own newspaper sites; 256 addresses and one upstream say it is not. Modern regional publishers consolidated their web presence onto shared platforms years ago, and the routing footprint here is consistent with exactly that: a headquarters network, not a content estate.

The handle is one character of information and a digit — PMG1. It is a good example of why identification has to come from the registered holder string and the routing, not from the handle: on its own, PMG1 would tell you nothing at all.
