AS10929 ESTRUXTURE-QC-10929

ESTRUXTURE-QC-10929 is the network of eStruxture Data Centers, a Canadian network- and cloud-neutral colocation operator. The ASN predates the brand: it was Netelligent Hosting Services, one of Montréal's largest data-centre operators, whose assets eStruxture acquired in 2017 as its founding purchase.

What it's used for

Colocation, managed hosting and the bandwidth that goes with them. RIS sees 58 IPv4 prefixes / 57,344 addresses and 3 IPv6 prefixes, against 22 observed neighbours. The neighbour count is the interesting one: 22 is far more than an enterprise (which peers with one or two) and far fewer than a wholesale transit carrier (which peers with hundreds). It sits precisely where a carrier-neutral data centre sits — enough upstreams and peers to sell diverse connectivity to tenants, no ambition to be a backbone.

Notable

The prefix list is a mosaic of /19s, /20s and dozens of smaller blocks rather than one clean aggregate: 67.212.64.0/19, 205.204.64.0/19, 209.44.96.0/19, 68.71.32.0/19, and a long tail down to /23. That fragmentation is what an inherited hosting estate looks like — space accumulated over two decades of customer assignments and an acquisition, all still announced.

Interesting

The sampled reverse DNS lands on build30.sitebuildit.com — a customer's server, not the operator's own infrastructure. Tenant-owned PTRs inside the provider's space are the defining reverse-DNS signature of colocation. Alongside its ARIN IPv6 (2605:9000::/32), the AS also originates 2a02:c6c1:1::/48 from the RIPE region, the kind of thing that happens when a tenant brings its own address space into the facility.
