GOV-FRB-BOG is the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System — the BOG in the handle — the Washington, D.C. agency at the centre of US monetary policy and bank supervision. This is the Board's own network, distinct from the twelve regional Reserve Banks and from the Fed's payment-system operations.

RIS observes 6 announced IPv4 prefixes carrying 67,328 addresses, no IPv6, and 4 observed neighbours. The bulk of that is one legacy 132.200.0.0/16, with a 192.26.196.0/22, a 192.26.194.0/23 and a few more-specifics alongside it. A full /16 is a large allocation by modern standards, and a very ordinary one for a US federal body that received its space early.

Four neighbours is the decisive number: this is a government enterprise with a small set of upstream providers, not a provider of anything to anyone. The workload behind it is the Board's staff network and its public-facing systems — economic data publication, research, regulatory filings and supervisory reporting.

The single sampled PTR points at that last category directly: geomapt.ffiec.gov belongs to the FFIEC, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, whose systems the Board hosts. FFIEC runs the interagency machinery for bank examinations and for Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Community Reinvestment Act geocoding — and geomapt is recognisably one of those geocoding/mapping tools.

Notable

The Fed's public identity is scattered across several distinct networks; this one is specifically the Board of Governors, so treating it as "the Federal Reserve" in aggregate would be a mistake. Note also that a large legacy /16 here is a historical artefact of early allocation, not a measure of the agency's size today.
