AS10595 MAUSWERKS

MAUSWERKS is held by Mauswerks, LLC, a small US technology company. Beyond the registry record there is very little public trace of it, and this card deliberately stops short of guessing what it does.

What it's used for

The routing is about as minimal as a live AS gets. RIS observes one IPv4 prefix, 204.152.96.0/24, carrying 256 addresses, one IPv6 prefix, 2602:f473::/36, and 1 observed BGP neighbour.

A single /24 behind a single upstream rules out most things by arithmetic alone: 256 addresses cannot aggregate subscribers, cannot host at scale, and cannot be sold as transit to anyone. What it can do is make one small footprint carrier-independent — the usual reason a tiny organisation runs its own ASN. No reverse DNS came back on the addresses sampled, which is a sample and no more; it is not evidence that the zone is undelegated and nothing should be inferred from it either way.

The evidence does not identify a primary use, so this card does not claim one.

Notable

The IPv6 side is the one asymmetry worth pointing at: a /36 is a provider-shaped allocation, orders of magnitude more v6 space than the v4 /24 has hosts, which is what you would expect from an operator that expects to sub-delegate. Whether it actually does is not something the routing table can tell us.
