TRADEWEB is Tradeweb, the electronic marketplace for fixed income, rates, credit, equities and money markets. Institutional clients — banks, asset managers, hedge funds — connect to its platform to price and execute trades; the sampled reverse DNS, pviewer-us.tradeweb.com, is one of its client-facing systems.

What it's used for

RIS observes 17 IPv4 prefixes carrying just 4,096 addresses, no IPv6, and 6 observed BGP neighbours. Seventeen prefixes to hold four thousand addresses means almost everything here is a /24 — the smallest globally routable unit.

That is the signature of a financial extranet rather than a hosting estate. The blocks come from visibly different parent ranges: 12.151.228.0/24 and friends out of AT&T space, 38.65.195.0/24 out of Cogent's, plus 64.237.108.0/22-worth of Tradeweb's own, and scattered /24s from several other carriers' historic allocations. A trading venue accumulates these by taking a small assignment from every carrier and every colocation site it needs a presence in, then announcing all of them from its own ASN so that clients reach the platform over whichever private circuit or exchange they already buy.

Address count is a bad proxy for importance here. Four thousand addresses is a rounding error next to a consumer ISP, but this AS fronts a venue that intermediates enormous daily notional volume. Latency, reachability and path diversity are what the network is optimised for; scale, in the eyeball sense, is irrelevant to it.
