was Lucent Technologies, then Alcatel-Lucent, and became part of Nokia in 2016.

The CIO in the handle is the giveaway: this is the corporate IT network of the

company, not a product or customer-facing one.

What it's used for

• Internal corporate connectivity for Nokia's US and inherited Bell Labs estate: offices, engineering and R&D sites, and the internet-facing edge of corporate IT and remote access.

• Enterprise, decisively. RIS sees 36 IPv4 prefixes carrying roughly 266,752 addresses plus 6 IPv6 prefixes — a lot of space — but only 4 observed BGP neighbours. That combination is what settles it. An operator with a quarter of a million addresses and a wholesale business would peer with hundreds of ASes; four neighbours means a small set of upstreams and no downstream customers. Large address count plus tiny neighbour count is the classic legacy enterprise fingerprint, not a carrier.
• The prefixes tell the corporate history directly. 135.245.0.0/16, 135.103.0.0/16, 135.87.0.0/16 and 135.223.0.0/16 are legacy Class Bs from the AT&T/Bell Labs era, when a research-and-manufacturing giant could be handed /16s at will. Nearly all the more-specifics (the /20s through /24s) are carved out of 135.245.0.0/16 for internal traffic engineering.
• Alongside them sit European blocks — 93.183.x and IPv6 under 2a00::/2a03:: — reflecting a company whose corporate network spans RIRs after decades of mergers.

Interesting

• Announced size badly overstates the live footprint here: most of those /16s live behind firewalls and NAT. Legacy holders announce what they were granted, not what they use.
