HTG is Huntleigh Telcom, now trading as the Huntleigh Technology Group —

a New Jersey firm that started as a telecom/Internet provider and has grown into a

managed IT services business, selling connectivity alongside network support,

backup, voice and security services to companies.

What it's used for

• Business Internet access and hosted services for HTG's customers, delivered out of the company's own routed address space rather than resold provider pools.
• The company's own infrastructure — 209.136.36.5 resolves to www.htg.net, so its public web presence lives inside the same space it hands to customers.

Notable

• A small business-focused provider, not an eyeball ISP and not a carrier. RIS sees 19 IPv4 prefixes carrying only about 4,096 addresses, with 2 observed BGP neighbours. Two neighbours rules out transit outright. The very small address pool rules out a consumer broadband base of any size.
• Reverse DNS is the clincher and needs reading carefully. Nearly every sampled address resolves to cust-<block>.<host>.htg.net — a customer label, applied by HTG, on HTG's own domain. That tells you the space is assigned out to end customers, but the volume tells you those customers are businesses taking a handful of statics each, not households on a subscriber pool.
• All 19 prefixes come from two blocks, 209.136.26.0–209.136.36.0 and 216.253.7.0–216.253.11.0, announced as both aggregates and constituent /24s. A high prefix count against 4,096 addresses is traffic engineering, not scale.

• One sampled PTR breaks the cust- pattern (edm-27.133.htg.net), a reminder that operator infrastructure and customer assignments share the same blocks.
