City, Utah. The bank renamed itself in 2018 after merging its holding company into

the operating bank, and the registry handle simply never caught up.

What it's used for

• The bank's own internet-facing edge: online and business banking, remote access for branches and staff, and the public services of its regional trade-name divisions (Zions Bank, Amegy, California Bank & Trust, National Bank of Arizona, Nevada State Bank, Vectra).

• Enterprise/financial end-site, not a provider. RIS sees 27 IPv4 prefixes but only about 8,192 addresses in total, with 5 observed BGP neighbours. A small address pool announced through a few upstreams, with nobody downstream, is the multihomed-enterprise signature. Banks multihome aggressively because availability is a regulatory as much as a commercial concern.
• The prefix list is the interesting part: every announcement falls inside 209.20.96.0/19, and the AS advertises it as two /20s plus two dozen individual /24s carved out of the same space. Deaggregating your own block that finely is deliberate — it lets an operator steer specific services down specific upstreams and makes prefix hijacks harder to land, since a /24 cannot be out-specified in the global table.
• A high prefix count with a tiny address count means traffic engineering, not scale. Reading the 27 prefixes as a large network would be exactly backwards.

• This is a good example of why a registry handle is never proof of identity: ZB NATIONAL ASSOCIATION names an entity that has not used that name in years.
