• Dedicated and bare-metal servers, virtualisation, private and public cloud, and colocation sold to business customers. Addresses here are server space rented by third-party tenants.

Notable

• Hosting, not eyeball and not transit. RIS sees 6 IPv4 prefixes carrying roughly 106,752 addresses plus one IPv6 /32 (2607:ff10::/32), against only 2 observed BGP neighbours. That shape is diagnostic: a large pile of addresses in a few big aggregates (209.126.128.0/17, 71.6.128.0/17, 66.240.192.0/18) reached through a couple of upstreams. A carrier would show hundreds of neighbours; a residential ISP of this address size would show subscriber-pool PTRs. Neither is present.
• Reverse DNS confirms the tenancy model rather than contradicting it. systems-win.cari.net is the operator's own infrastructure, while gears216-5.gears1.messagegears.net on the small 135.84.216.0/24 is a customer's naming — MessageGears, an email-delivery platform. A host's space carrying a tenant's hostnames is exactly what hosting looks like.

• This is the standing lesson about rDNS: an IP in 135.84.216.0/24 will look like MessageGears and geolocate to CariNet, and both are true. The AS identifies who runs the racks, never who rents them.
• CARI.net's 71.6.128.0/17 is well known to anyone who reads firewall logs — it has long hosted Internet-wide scanning and measurement projects, which are tenants of the hosting business, not the business itself.
