AS10392 NSB1-NET

NSB1-NET is New Source Broadband, a fixed-wireless internet provider serving small towns in north-central Texas: Graham, Breckenridge, Cisco, Jacksboro and their neighbours. It sells residential and business broadband delivered over licensed and unlicensed radio rather than copper or fibre.

What it's used for

RIS observes 14 IPv4 prefixes carrying 3,840 addresses and no IPv6. The anchor is 198.186.8.0/21, deaggregated down to its constituent /24s, plus four contiguous /24s at 104.152.156.0–104.152.159.0, a /23 out of AT&T's 12.0.0.0/8 (12.165.96.0/23, almost certainly space carried over from an upstream relationship) and a stray 207.242.180.0/24.

The reverse DNS is unusually clean and tells the whole story: every sampled address resolves to static-<a>-<b>-<c>-<d>.newsourcebroadband.com. Sequential, template-generated PTRs across a whole subscriber range are the fingerprint of an access network handing addresses to customer premises equipment.

Notable

This is an eyeball network, not hosting. The tell is the combination of first-party subscriber-shaped rDNS with only three observed BGP neighbours — a small ISP buying transit from a couple of upstreams, exactly what a rural WISP does.

Note the word static in the PTRs names the addressing model, not the customer type. A fixed-wireless subscriber typically gets a stable address because the radio link is stable; it does not make them a server.
