DSCGA is Digital Service Consultants, Inc., a long-running Atlanta-area

colocation, hosting and business-internet provider. Its main data centre is in

Buford, Georgia (Gwinnett County), with a second presence in the carrier hotel at

55 Marietta Street in downtown Atlanta.

What it's used for

• Colocation, web and application hosting, dedicated email, cloud backup and monitoring, plus business internet access — the full small-provider stack that regional operators of this vintage tend to carry.
• The sampled reverse DNS is consistently first-party and server-shaped: core1-GigE.dscga.com (a border router), and repeated static.5k.dscga.com / static.5.dscga.com naming. Static addressing across the pools, with no subscriber-style dsl-/pool-/dhcp- naming anywhere, points at hosted and colocated machines rather than an eyeball access network.

Notable

• Hosting, not carrier. RIS sees 15 IPv4 prefixes / 23,296 addresses against 9 observed BGP neighbours. Nine neighbours is a well-peered regional hoster, an order of magnitude short of the hundreds a wholesale transit network carries.
• The space is scattered across many unrelated blocks (216.5.16.0/20, 192.24.0.0/20, 198.78.96.0/20, 209.116.0.0/21, and more), but every sampled address answers under the holder's own domain — self-registered space with first-party rDNS. That is an old operator that has accreted allocations, not the address-broker pattern.

Interesting

• Two PTRs read as customer artefacts rather than DSC infrastructure: usgs.dscga.com and a t-tech.com name inside DSC space — the visible edge of colocation and hosted-customer tenancy.
