desert city that China turned into a national data-centre cluster on the strength

of cheap power and a cold, dry climate.

Notable

This is hosting, and the reverse DNS proves what the space carries rather than

merely suggesting it. Sampled addresses in 69.235.184.0/21 resolve to

ec2-69-235-184-5.cn-northwest-1.compute.amazonaws.com.cn — Amazon EC2 instances

in the AWS China (Ningxia) region, whose physical home is Zhongwei. So this AS

is announcing address space that fronts public-cloud compute, not subscribers and

not a corporate office.

prefixes, and 2 observed neighbours**. Two neighbours confirms it is not a

carrier — Unicom's transit business runs on other ASNs; this one is a leaf that

exists to originate the cloud campus's space.
