JB-AS-KR is the network of Joongbu University, a private university in South

Korea with campuses in Geumsan (South Chungcheong) and Goyang. It is an academic

network serving its own campuses, staff and students.

• Campus connectivity across both sites: teaching and research, libraries and labs, student wireless and dormitory access, and the university's own web, mail and student-records systems.

• The kind is education. RIS observes 19 IPv4 prefixes, 9,728 addresses and 2 observed neighbours. Two neighbours means two upstream providers and no customer cone — decisively not a carrier, whatever the address count suggests. Nearly ten thousand addresses behind two transit links is a campus population, not a subscriber base.
• The prefix list explains the split-campus structure. There are two sizeable anchors, 220.149.96.0/21 and 210.125.232.0/21, plus a long tail of /24s clustered in 114.71.x and 61.81.x. Announcing two similar-sized blocks and fragmenting the rest is what a university with more than one campus does: each site needs its own routable slice, and departmental networks get carved out of the remainder.

• Universities are over-represented in this stretch of the ASN range because Korean higher education was among the earliest constituencies on the national internet, wired through the academic backbone before commercial ISPs existed. A private university with a few thousand students holding its own AS and 10,000 addresses is a survival from that period, not a sign of unusual scale.
