HAUNET-AS-KR is the campus network of Korea Aerospace University (한국항공대학교),

the aviation and aerospace engineering university in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, next to

Gimpo Airport.

What it's used for

Notable

The kind here is education, and the routing shape rather than the name is what

carries it. The pack shows 31 announced IPv4 prefixes holding 10,496 addresses,

no IPv6, and only two observed BGP neighbours. Two upstreams is a

dual-homed end site — it buys transit, it does not sell it. A network with this

much address space that was in the connectivity business would show tens or

hundreds of peers; a wholesale carrier shows thousands.

The prefix list reinforces it. The blocks are a mixture of one aggregate

(210.119.24.0/21) and a long tail of /23s and /24s scattered across 203.253,

220.67, 220.149 and 118.128, plus a single 134.75.55.0/24 out of legacy

pre-APNIC class-B space. That accretion pattern (small blocks gathered over

decades, including an early-internet allocation) is characteristic of a

long-established academic institution, not of a modern commercial allocation.

Around 10,000 routable addresses is a plausible fit for a mid-size campus that

still gives public addresses to lab and dormitory subnets rather than NATing

everything.

• The university operates its own flight-training facilities, so parts of this network back aviation-specific teaching infrastructure as well as ordinary campus IT.
